ISEES has received support from the Global Ecovillages Network to facilitate dialogue among local communities in building resilience to climate change in Ghana.
With communities in Ghana deemed as highly vulnerable to climate change, the Keystone communities project seeks to foster communities of practice, bringing together community leaders to exchange ideas and build pathways towards resilience to climate change.
ISEES is participating in an International Community of Practice Platform with leaders of ecovillages around the world to discuss and chart pathways to building resilience in their communities. The knowledge sharing and co-creation approaches have been inspiring
ISEES seeks to bring this wealth of knowledge in strengthening its communities we work in as well as empowering members of the Ghana Ecovillages Network to build resilience to climate change through an Ecovillage Dialogue series – a Community of Practice Platform in Ghana helping local community leaders to learn and share their experiences and approaches to helping build resilience in their ecovillage communities.
We hope to contribute to sustainable development as well as influence policy for a climate-resilient Ghana and Africa through this initiative, serving one community at a time

The Keystone Communities project, spearheaded by the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN), is a global initiative focused on building resilience and regeneration in ecovillages and communities. It involves a learning journey, starting with a “Weaving Resilience” course, designed to deepen understanding of resilience at personal, communal, and planetary levels. Participating communities will share knowledge, co-create tools, and connect with others worldwide to navigate the challenges of the polycrisis.
Key aspects of the Keystone Communities project:
- Weaving Resilience Course: A free course for GEN members and affiliated communities, focusing on building resilience through practical exercises and knowledge sharing.
- Global Community of Practice: Ecovillages and communities in the network will connect, share strategies, and learn from each other.
- Keystone Communities Toolkit: Participating communities will help shape a toolkit for resilience and regeneration.
- Poly-crisis Navigation: The project aims to equip communities with the knowledge and tools to navigate the complex challenges of our time.
How to get involved:
- Ecovillages and communities can apply to join the project by the deadline of March 31st, according to the Global Ecovillage Network Instagram page.
- The “Weaving Resilience” course is free for GEN members and members of affiliated communities (like FIC ecovillages).
- The course is offered in English and Spanish, with regional cohorts available.
The Keystone Communities project is a call to action for communities to step up, learn, and co-create a more resilient and regenerative future, according to the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN).
