A policy dialogue on agroecology has been held with district directors of agriculture, farmers and CSOs in the Ayensuano, suhum and Nsawam Municipalities organized by the Institute for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Solutions’s Department of Sustainable Agriculture and Agroecology under the auspices of the 11th Hour Agroecology Program of RSF Social Finance. Over 110 participants were present at the stakeholder workshop to discuss the policy barriers hampering the adoption of agroecology, including market assess challenges, depleting soils and high cost of fertilizers and how the planting for food and jobs phase 2 is focused more on modernizing agriculture
Farmers and extension officers reiterated the need for government policy to promote healthy soils and healthy food through agroecological practices.
