With support from UpEnergy ISEES conducted a pilot market for electric pressure cookers in Ghana. The project facilitated the distribution of 250 electric pressure cookers in the Greater Accra and Eastern Region of Ghana.
As part of the pilot market project, energy meters were used to periodically measure energy used by households in cooking to determine the consumption, price and efficiency of the stoves.
Willingness to pay, was also assessed, a stakeholder workshop was also organized that brought together experts from various civil society, government agencies and communities to experience the electric pressure cooker and its usage.
Through the pilot project, UpEnergy will be rolling out a major program on electric cooking in Ghana.
